The Importance of Upgrades in World of Warcraft
Upgrades are a new kind of item that can provide an increase to your stats. They can be used to upgrade armor, trinkets and weapons.
Upgrades to items employ a method called "upgrade pity" to determine probabilities. This method is intended to limit the extremes of luck and provide an adequate safety net when upgrading.
Armor
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade the equipment level of their trinkets, armor, and weapons. The upgrade is applied to gear when you visit an upgrader NPC with the appropriate currency. Upgrading an item will also upgrade the stats on that item.
This NPC can be found in each major city and is situated at the corner of the square, near a telephone port. The NPC is able to upgrade any weapon, armor or trinket, with the exception of those that require a quest, or crafting.
Note: The item you use to upgrade your gear is destroyed for ever. You are not able to apply multiple upgrades to the same piece. If you try to do so the previous upgrade will be overwritten.
Upgrade your equipment to increase the damage, your survival and overall power. If you have Benthic gear that was obtained through the War Within Mythic Dungeon it will be at ilvl 385 and is upgradeable with [Prismatic manapearlsor [Prismatic manapearls]. Upgrades for your PvE gear are available across all accounts, however upgrades for PvP gear require a specific currency, like [Valorstones] or [Harbinger Crests[Harbinger Crests]. The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade any additional gear in an armor slot decreases after the initial upgrade.
Weapons
Weapons are an essential component of any character that is successful. They can be used to fend off an evil monster, kill an intruder, or win a shooting competition. Or they can simply hang on the wall. Regardless of how you plan to use a specific weapon, you should keep in mind that it's possible to upgrade it and will evolve depending on your style of play.
The process of upgrading weapons is done by visiting a Blacksmith who has a Weapon Workbench available. The Blacksmith Hewg, which is located in the right-hand section of the Roundtable Hold hub, is an excellent choice to upgrade your weapon. There is also a Smithing Master called Iji located in the "Road to the Manor" Site of Grace in the northwestern region of Liurna of the Lakes. Smithing Master Iji improves armor and weapons.
As a rule, upgrading an item will raise the level of its weapon by 5. However it is the case for Azerite weaponry (see below) and other weaponry that is special, the item's ilvl will increase by 15. A player is limited to one active upgrade at any given time. If you try to upgrade a weapon while another upgrade is applied the upgrade will fail and the weapon will be returned to its original level.
In addition to boosting the item level of a weapon an upgrade will also grant it additional stats that can be used to boost the power of the weapon. Some of these improvements will be purely passive while others may provide increased damage, speedier attack as well as increased range or strike chance.
Some weapons can be upgraded to a higher quality using an Ashes of War weapon, which rewards you for defeating certain raid bosses. Other upgrades can be added to weapons with Whetblades, which are rare items that unlock new Affinities to infuse a weapon with.
Once a weapon has been fully upgraded it will continue to receive additional upgrades as long as the player has the appropriate upgrade materials and currency on to. It is important to remember that weapons can only be upgraded up to a maximum of 25. As a result, players should only upgrade their weapons after they've acquired the maximum possible number of upgrades through regular and Whetblade items.
Trinkets
Trinkets are unique items that provide a wide variety of Boosts. They can be upgraded as other equipment through interaction with an Item Upgrader NPC.
Stardew Valley is the place where you can locate an item upgrading tool. To use it, you need to first take off any weapons or armor that are equipped. The NPC will then appear with the red banner "Equiped" over his head.
You can upgrade your weapon or armor by choosing him. You must bring the currency as well as the items to the NPC. The NPC will then upgrade your equipment by one level.

Aside from the basic trinket upgrade, each comes with additional capabilities that can be added. They can boost the effectiveness of an item, however they could require more materials or ability to obtain. Certain items are available by interacting with an NPC during the course of a quest. Other items are available as drops from battlegrounds or dungeons.
The Item Upgrader NPC can be located in various locations throughout the game. They are listed on the map under the Locations tab. These increased stats are what makes the upgraded version of an item more valuable than its base counterpart. Below are the tables that show the defense rolls that are maximum for each upgraded version and the requirements for upgrading.
There are exceptions to the rule. For instance, if an item has inherently high requirements that limit its use (take Whistan's shield from FB sorcs for an example), or when an item has a low base stat that could be upp'd to get an ideal or high roll, then it will only see very little use and thus gain little value.
