World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved after an update.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a significant possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Using the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When More hints improves the equipment they have, the base item is replaced by the new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback since the item may be more expensive even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have an initial level and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful, but shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
